Dear Parents
It’s been a good few weeks of rehearsing – and our new members have settled in well. Here are a few reminders regarding the remainder of this term…
There are three more rehearsals after half term before our first concert on Saturday 21st November at Sutton Town Hall – not long to polish what we have been learning! We would like to extend the rehearsal on Wednesday 18th November to 6pm please, which will help us put the finishing touches tougether. Attendance at rehearsals is really important: the songs we’re singing are challenging, and are in up to four parts. However, if there is an unavoidable absence, please let us know beforehand. Don’t forget there is a rehearsal at the Town Hall at 6pm on the Saturday!
Tickets are available at £10 (£5 children) – all proceeds going to Cancer Research. Last year the choir raised around £700 for the event. The evening includes performances by the Vaughan Singers and Sutton Coldfield Sea Cadets Band. Please indicate on the order form below how many of each type of ticket you would like and send back after the half term break.
Don’t forget there are two other concerts coming up: Lichfield Cathedral Carol Service on Wednesday 2nd December, and the Family Christmas Concerts at Sutton Town Hall on Sunday 13th December. Some of the pieces for the latter of these two will be with a live orchestra! The choir will be taking part in the 4pm and 7.30pm performances for this, with the afternoon rehearsal as previously outlined. Ticket information for both these dates will follow after half term.
